The IBF title fight between Lucian Bute and Carl Froch will be broadcast live on SuperSport on Saturday night.Bute, of Romania, is set to make the tenth defence of his super-middleweight belt when he meets former WBC champion and hometown hero Froch at the Nottingham Arena in England.
Live coverage of the tournament is scheduled to start at 11pm (SA, CAT, GMT+2) on SuperSport 2.
The 32-year-old Bute, who is based in Montreal, Canada, has a professional record of 30-0, with 24 knockouts. He will make only the second defence of his title outside Canada.The southpaw champion won the belt in October 2007 when he stopped Alejandro Berrio in the eleventh round.
He has defended the title against William Joppy, twice against Librado Andrade, against Fulgencio Zuniga, Edison Miranda, Jesse Brinkly, Brian Magee, Jean-Paul Mendy and Glen Johnson.
In an impressive run, he stopped Joppy in the tenth round, beat Andrade on points and then by fourth-round knockout, stopped Zuniga in the fourth and Miranda in the third, knocked out Brinkly in the ninth, stopped Magee in the tenth and knocked out Mendy in the fourth. He beat Johnson by wide margins over 12 rounds.
